Orlando Family Stage (The REP) presents Llama Llama (September 12 – October 16, 2016). This production is presented by Orange County Arts & Cultural Affairs and supporting sponsor Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed, P.A.

Jump into the world of little Llama and his Mama as they encounter daily adventures of Llama life – the first day of school, a trip to the supermarket, and bedtime drama! Llama learns about self-control and finds bravery with help from his Mama. Based on the beloved rhyming books by Anna Dewdney, playwright Ernie Nolan has crafted a show that is sure to put a smile on the faces of children and parents alike!

“I was not familiar with Anna Dewdney’s award-winning and wildly popular Llama Llama series before being asked to direct this adorable adaptation”, says director Laurel Clark. “Reading the script for the first time, I was instantly drawn to the simplicity of the rhymes and seamless way several of the books were blended together to create one very important day in the life of our little hero, Llama. I clearly remember my own daughter, Miranda, at this age, sharing these very real fears about going to a new school or being alone in her room. And what child has not felt positively tortured while waiting for Mama to finish shopping in a store?”

Llama Llama is now playing Saturdays and Sundays from September 12 through October 16, 2016 at 2pm and 5:30pm. Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for students, seniors (55+), and members of the military with valid ID, and $14 for the youth (ages 3 to 17).

The REP also offers special performances of Llama Llama. There is an ASL performance, translated by an American Sign Language Interpreter, on Monday, September 26 at 10:30am. Backstage Tours are offered on September 26 and October 8 following the 5:30pm performance. Tickets are $5 per person and space is limited, so make sure you reserve your spot early in advance at the box office!

The cast includes Sara Costello as Baa Baa Sheep/Nelly Gnu, Octavia Finch as Mama Llama, Cherise James as Billy Goat/Clarice Kitty, Christ Metz as Llama Llama, and Candace Neal as Ms. Zebra/Cheryl Llama. Llama Llama is directed by Laurel Clark with costume design by Dan Jones, lighting and sound direction by Samuel Finken, lighting design by Alyx Jacobs, props design by Steven Lopez and stage management by Tiffany Lyn Meadows.
