Youth Academy Production: Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach Jr. (3-8 grade)

Grades 3-8* Youth Academy productions provide students with a professional production experience designed to increase performance and rehearsal skills while building confidence, empathy, and ability to work as an ensemble. Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach Jr. is a brand new take on this “masterpeach” of a tale, featuring a wickedly tuneful score by the Tony award nominated team of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul who also wrote A Christmas Story the Musical and the upcoming Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen! When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach, rolls into the ocean, and launches a journey of enormous proportions. James befriends a collection of singing insects that ride the giant piece of fruit across the ocean! They face hunger, sharks, and plenty of disagreements along the way, but ultimately learn to live and work together as a family!
