Explore. Create. Perform.

The Education department at Orlando Family Stage works to expand our commitment to the community by promoting accessibility to drama and theatre, as well as programming outside of our building and in collaboration with our partners.

These quality programs serve educators, young people, and families.

Our community partners include schools, community centers, social service organizations, and shelters or foster care organizations.

Community Engagement for Teachers

For Teachers

Engaged Learning Through the Arts (ELTA)

At Orlando Family Stage: Through a partnership between Orlando REP, Orange County Public Schools (OCPS), and The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., teachers and teaching artists build the skills and confidence necessary to incorporate theatre, music, art, and movement techniques across the curriculum. ELTA programs at Orlando Family Stage are offered only to Orange County Public Schools.

In Your School: Orlando Family Stage provides fun and interactive in-service professional development in arts integration. In-school ELTA programs are available for most Central Florida counties.

PROGRAMS AT Orlando Family Stage

Scout Workshops

Orlando Family Stage continues its commitment to serving all young people of Central Florida through offering exciting workshops and special events. All Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts are welcome to join us on select Saturdays for our Scout Workshop Series, which include a performance and post-show workshop, taught by professional teaching artists. Scouts explore each show’s themes and characters in-depth. Workshops are designed for new and returning participants, and are unique to each production. Book your tickets and workshops with the Box Office for one or all of our special Scout events. We look forward to seeing you at Orlando Family Stage!

PROGRAMS IN THE COMMUNITY

Arts & Character Training (ACT)

ACT programs are a diverse set of residencies that invite youth from our community to participate in the arts in order to promote access to theatrical training and experiences, dialogue, engagement in the community, awareness, and even social change.

Orlando Family Stage is always seeking new ways to have impact in our community!

If you or your organization is interested in any of the above initiatives, please contact Emily Freeman, Community Engagement Director, at [email protected].
