Scout Workshops @ The REP

2014-2015 Scout Workshops at Orlando Repertory Theatre

Scout Workshops include fun and engaging theatre activitiebased on themes from the plays in The REP’s 2014-2015 season. The workshops will enhance the experience of watching performances and result in a REP Fun Patch for the participants.

Please contact the Box Office at 407-896-7365 to reserve workshops and tickets for the 2014-2015 Season. Tickets and workshops can be reserved starting August 1, 2014.

Prices:

$16.00   Includes show ticket,  one hour workshop, and Rep Fun Patch (Scouts only!)

$12.00   Child show only

$18.00   Adult show only

$ 5.00   Scout discount for all shows.

Workshop Saturday: September 27, 2014

Time: 3:45-4:45pm

Showtime: 2:00pm or 5:30 pm

Suggested level: Brownies/Juniors/Cadets or grades 2-8

Workshop cost: $16 – Includes show ticket, one hour workshop, and Rep Fun Patch

Workshop Theme: Puppetry

Workshop Description: In this workshop, Scouts will explore the creation and use of puppets as a means of exploring the world of The Borrowers.

Service Task: The REP is a partner with The Orlando Union Rescue Mission. Collect small hygiene items and bring to The REP and we will be sure they get distributed to the families and individuals at the Mission.

Workshop Saturday: October 18, 2014

Time: 3:45-4:45pm

Showtime: 2:00pm or 5:30 pm

Suggested level: Daisies/Brownies or grades K-3

Workshop cost: $16 – Includes show ticket, one hour workshop, and Rep Fun Patch

Workshop Theme: Characters and Costumes

Description: Join us as we explore what it takes to make a character: from the way we walk to the way we dress!

Service Task: Have your troop collect slightly used books for grades K-12 and bring to The REP so we may donate them to A Gift For Teaching for distribution to students in need.

Workshop Saturday: November 15, 2014

Time: 4:15-5:15pm

Showtime: 2:00pm or 5:30 pm

Suggested level: All levels or grades K-8

Workshop Theme: Giving Versus Receiving

Description: In this workshop, Scouts will learn acting basics and explore the the idea of giving versus receiving.

Service Task: Bring non-perishable food items to The REP for donation to the Conway Cares Food Drive.

The Mostly True Adventures of Homer P. Figg

Workshop Saturday: February 7, 2015

Time: 3:45-4:45pm

Showtime: 2:00pm

Suggested level: Brownies/Juniors/Cadets or grades 2-8

Workshop cost: $16 – Includes show ticket, one hour workshop, and Rep Fun Patch

Workshop Theme:Tall Tales and Storytelling

Description: Scouts will work together to create original tall tales in this exciting workshop based on The Mostly True Adventures of Homer P. Figg.

Service Task: Bring a new package of adult white tube socks for our service men and women as a “thank you” for serving our country.  The REP will see they receive your donation.

Workshop Theme: Friendship

Description: In this workshop, Scouts will explore what it means to be a friend through interactive theatre strategies.
