Sensory-Friendly Performance | How I Became a Pirate

Orlando Family Stage is pleased to announce its Sensory-Friendly performance of How I Became a Pirate on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at 5:30pm.

The Sensory-Friendly performance has been specially designed for individuals with autism or other sensory differences and special needs.  Volunteer helpers are stationed in the lobby and throughout the theatre to assist patrons as they are seated. Adjustments have been made to the show’s lighting and sound effects. A quiet room is available, should patrons need to leave the theatre at any time. A Social Story, a resource guide for parents and children, is also available for download, so patrons can get a feel for the theatre experience before the day of the show.

SYNOPSIS: A treasure-sized, swashbuckling adventure awaits with How I Became a Pirate , a musical written by Janet Yates Vogt and Mark Friedman, based on the beloved book by Melinda Long and David Shannon. Sail off on a fantastic excursion with a band of comical pirates looking for an expert digger to join their crew. Braid Beard and his mates enlist young Jeremy Jacob, as they try to find the perfect spot to bury their treasure.
