Mariellen Batchelor

Mariellen Batchelor has her Masters in Theatre Education from the University of Northern Colorado and has been a Teaching Artist in the Orlando area for over 10 years.

Mariellen can be found inspiring Orlando’s young artists through theater arts education as a Teaching Artist for the Orlando Repertory Theatre. Mariellen has had the opportunity to work with organizations such as the Alliance Theatre, Garden Theatre, Winter Park Playhouse Outreach, Walt Disney World Youth Education, Osceola Arts, Wekiva River Players, and ArtReach Orlando sharing the magic of theatre with all ages from 3 years old to College Undergraduates.

A performer since the age of 5, Mariellen has been involved in almost every aspect of theatre ever since.

Brittany Caine

Brittany Caine is third-year Theatre for Young Audiences MFA Candidate. She hails from the San Francisco Bay Area, where she worked as a Teaching Artist and Director for companies including TheatreWorks Silicon Valley and Palo Alto Children’s Theatre. Her passion lies at the intersection of art and literature, using books and stories as the foundation for her theatrical work, and finding ways that teaching can create overlap with communities and families.  Favorite Orlando REP memories include Writes of Spring 2019 and assistant directing The Giver and Ella Enchanted. Brittany holds a BA from Smith College in Theatre and Jewish Studies. missbrittanyteaches.com.

Hallie Chapman

Hallie Chapman is a musical theatre major at the University of Central Florida with an emphasis in early child development. She was last seen at the Florida Repertory in Fort Myers as the mini star’s choreographer and is planning on researching music, dance play in early child development to end her senior year! Morgan Cobb

Morgan is a first year MFA Theatre for Young Audiences candidate at UCF. She is from North Carolina where she earned her undergraduate BFA in Theatre for Youth at East Carolina University. She has a background in musical theatre and is a certified actor combatant. This past season she worked at the Education Intern at Orlando REP and is excited to continue working in partnership with the REP and UCF!

Chris Creane

Chris Creane is currently an MFA Acting student at UCF. Prior to that he acted in shows all across the United States, as well as internationally throughout the Middle-East, South and Central America, and Taiwan. His love for theatre began when he was 18, shortly after his love for pizza which began at 17.

Chanel Gomaa

Chanel Gomaa graduated from the University of Central Florida in May of 2019, with a degree in Theatre Studies and a minor in Creative Writing.  She has had the privilege of performing, teaching, directing and choreographing for companies and theatres like the Wekiva River Players, Southern Arts Events, The Institute of Reading Development, The Flagler Playhouse, Daytona State College, UCF, the Orlando Rep, and more.  Additionally, Chanel performs and competes with spoken word poetry.  She has represented UCF, as well as the cities of Orlando and Deland Florida on multiple national stages, as part of a team or as an individual poet.  Her collection of poetry, entitled “Lessons on Being the Muslim in the Room”, was a semi-finalist in the 2019 Button Poetry Chapbook Contest; her work has also been featured and published by TeenInk Literary Magazine, and Slamfind.com.

Michelle Hamilton

Michelle Hamilton is very excited to work with the Orlando REP Theater! She is currently a first-year transfer and junior at the University of Central Florida. Michelle is majoring in Theatre Studies and minoring in dance, and plans to have a career in directing and choreography after graduation. She hopes to one day travel the world and share her love for theatre with others. She is very grateful for her opportunity to independently study at the REP!

Ximena Gonzalez

Ximena Gonzalez is a graduate from UCF with a degree in Theatre Studies. Originally from Venezuela, she has a passion for exploring the use theatre for educational purposes and social change. Ximena is very proud to be part of Orlando REP’s program EYEPlay and teach her native language using dramatic techniques as well as a teaching artist for The Justice Project, and many other projects!

Gisella Hernandez

Gisella Maria Hernandez is a bilingual actress and teacher. As an actress, she has appeared in The Street of Crocodiles and The Refugee Plays on the UCF stage, When Coquis Sing and Perspectives: Just Like Us on the Orlando Repertory Theater Stage. As a teacher, she continues to be a part of the Bilingual EYEPLAY program and teaches themed drama classes at the Orlando Repertory Theater. Gisella is a student at the University of Central Florida in her senior year (Graduation December 2019) with a major in Theatre (Acting Concentration).

Bryan Jager

Bryan is a local actor, writer, and director, and is thrilled to be working with the Orlando Repertory Theatre! He’s performed with the Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando, Mad Cow Theatre, and many shows at the Orlando Rep. As a writer/ director, he’s had work produced in New York, Chicago, and right in town at the Orlando Fringe Festival.

Maria Katsadouros

Maria Katsadouros, the Education Coordinator for Orlando REP, holds an MFA in Theatre for Young Audiences from the University of Central Florida and a BA in Theatre and Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. The past six years have brought Maria opportunities to teach, perform, and share her love for young people internationally and throughout the U.S. Her credits as a teaching artist include Flat Rock Playhouse (Flat Rock, NC), The Coterie (Kansas City, MO), La Isla Bonita (San Pedro, Belize), and Orlando Repertory Theatre. When she’s not in the classroom Maria spends time creating and sharing original Theatre for the Very Young (TVY) pieces throughout Central Florida. She’s over the moon When Pigs Fly, an original TVY piece inspired by her thesis work, will debut at Orlando REP Fall 2019!

Kate Kilpatrick

Kate Kilpatrick is a third year graduate student in the Theatre for Young Audiences MFA program at UCF where she is a 2019 inductee into the Order of Pegasus and the Associate Artistic Director of Theatre UCF. She holds a BFA in Acting from Michigan State University. Currently, Kate is a teaching artist for several programs for caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s and dementia and their care partners using theatre and improvisation. Additionally, she facilitated the intergenerational program Come to the Table in partnership with the Orlando REP, Avalon Middle School, and Encore at Avalon Retirement Community. Recently, she has directed several Central Florida productions such as Jason and the Argonauts (Orlando Fringe), The Last Paving Stone (UCF), and her original play Come to the Table (Avalon Middle School). Her passions include intergenerational drama programming and creating Theatre for the Very Young.

Carmen Medina

Carmen has more than 20 years of experience in theatre, opera, and film as a wigmaker, wig stylist, and makeup artist. More recently, she has added wax figure hair application and styling to her bag of tricks! This is her third full season at Orlando REP creating wig styles and headdresses (not always out of actual hair) and her second season helping to teach the very popular FACE-OFF Makeup Class, which she enjoys very much.

Laura Mejia

Laura holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from The University of Central Florida and graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors. Originally from Colombia, Laura moved to the United States at the age of 10, and discovered her passion for the performing arts at the age of 13 when she performed in her first production with a local Spanish-speaking acting group. Since then, she has been involved in multiple stage, film as well as theme park productions, and has a huge love for Theatre. She lived in Germany for 3 years, where she was a nanny and English tutor. Now back in the US, she is excited to combine her love for children and theater at the Orlando Rep as a teaching artist, and is very proud to be involved in the EyePlay program, which focuses on the incorporation of dramatic arts within bilingual classrooms.

Shelley Nebel

Shelley was born and raised in Hendersonville, NC. She spent her school years as a member of the YouTheater at Flat Rock Playhouse and part of the Advanced Theater Class at Hendersonville High School. Her favorite role was Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. After graduating high school, Shelley stepped away from the stage. She earned a BA in both Elementary Education and Middle Grades Social Studies from Elon University in 2010. She spent the next nine years, teaching Science and Social Studies at four different middle schools in NC and TN. Her family relocated to the Orlando area at the beginning of 2019. Upon moving, Shelley began teaching English virtually to students in China. Her husband, Eric, and Shelley welcomed their precious baby boy Louie into their family in July. She is excited for this opportunity with Orlando Rep and the chance to reconnect with her theater roots while using her passion for teaching in a new way.

Joni Newman

Joni holds a BA in English Education from Brigham Young University and is an MFA candidate in Theatre for Young Audiences at UCF. Although her professional background involves nearly a decade of teaching English to high school and junior high students, Joni has been a performer all of her life. Favorite credits include Marian (The Music Man), Catherine (The Foreigner), Shelby (Steel Magnolias), Belinda (Noises Off), and Beth (Little Women: The Musical). She has also helped assistant direct and choreograph numerous productions in the Utah valley. She is thrilled to work with the Orlando Repertory Theatre where she can help foster meaningful theatre experiences for youth.

Jarrett Poore

Jarrett is an actor and teaching artist with a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from the University of Central Florida and is currently working on his Master’s. Megan Ramsey

Megan is a senior at the University of Central Florida studying Theatre in the School of Performing Arts with a minor in Creative Writing. She is the current Vice President of Theatre UCF’s sketch comedy team Quadruple Stuffed Oreos, she performs with the musical improv troupe Murphy Bed Surprise, and she previously completed a week-long residency with the touring cast of The Second City- Chicago. Megan also has previously worked with Patel Conservatory and Abba Dabba Entertainment as a teacher’s assistant. She is excited to spend her semester with Orlando REP and explore what it means to teach theatre!

Scott Savage

Scott Savage is a 3rd year MFA candidate in the University of Central Florida’s Theatre for Young Audiences program. He received his BA in Theatre Education from BYU and has taught acting, technical theater, improvisation, and arts integrated drama lessons to students from Pre-K through University level. He has directed TYA pieces in Utah, Florida and California; most recently 101 Dalmatians at ARIEL Theatrical. His lighting design credits include TheatreUCF, BYU’s Pardoe Theatre and the Pugh Theatre at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Arts.

Brooke Shellpfeffer

Brooke has been a part of the REP family since she was 9 years old. From performing in TYA shows, to summer stock shows, being an apprentice, to being an assistant choreographer, to 4 years as a teaching artist. She is currently working as the Education Intern for the 2019-2020 season at The REP, as well as continuing as a teaching artist. You can also find her choreographing the season and competitive high school troupe at Magic Curtain Productions this year. Brooke graduated from Florida State University with a BA in Theatre, with an emphasis in Choreography. She truly has a passion for teaching and inspiring young children and loves getting the chance to share that passion in the Orlando area!

Cameron Silverman

Cameron is trilled to begin working with the amazing Orlando REP! He is currently a Sophomore studying Theatre at UCF and plans to continue in the Theatre for Young Audiences field. He was worked with the education department at the Lake Worth Playhouse in South Florida over previous summers and is excited to enter the world of TYA in Orlando. In addition to theatre education, Cameron is interested in performing as well and can be seen in shows throughout the Orlando area.

Robby Stamper

Robby Stamper is thrilled to be a part of the Orlando Rep family. Robby has served as musical director for Disney, including Disney Theatrical’s Cub School, which works with young performers, preparing them for roles in Disney Broadway shows. As a musical director/vocal coach, he worked in New York City with Julliard’s Summer Performing Arts Vocal Workshop and other organizations. Robby is also an award winning composer and alum of the Tony award-winning BMI Musical Theater Workshop. Robby recently moved back to his hometown of Orlando after a 19 year residence in NYC, and is a teacher and musical director with Orlando REP and other local theatres. Nathan Stout

Nathan Tanner Stout is a first year graduate student in the MFA Theatre for Young Audiences Program at UCF. Originally from Zanesville, Ohio, Nathan earned his BA in Theatre Arts Studies at Brigham Young University before living and teaching in Italy for 2 years. He has been a member of BYU’s Young Company, touring elementary schools in the Salk Lake Valley.

Mia Strickland

Mia Strickland is a BA Theatre student with a minor in Performing Arts Administration at the University of Central Florida, graduating December 2020. She is originally from Clearwater, Florida where she attended the Pinellas County Center for the Arts. She has previously worked at Ruth Eckerd Hall and the Patel Conservatory at the Straz Center. Past theatrical credits include Evita, Pippin, All the Way, and Les Miserables. Following graduation from UCF, she plans to pursue a master’s degree in arts administration.

Myles Thoroughgood

Myles Thoroughgood has over 30 years of experience in the Dance and Entertainment industry.

The Founding Director of the Interactive Academy of Performing Arts School of Dance providing online arts training worldwide.

Thoroughgood has been creating movement for every medium since his debut as choreographer for The Disney Channel. Many artists, including Christina Aguilera, Ryan Gosling, Keri Russel, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake, shared their first television experience under Myles’ choreographic direction.

Thoroughgood also worked with young performers from Nickelodeon, TLC/Discovery Network and Sesame Workshop.

On stage, Thoroughgood has directed and choreographed more than thirty Central Florida musical theater productions.

He is a Creative Consultant for Disney World and directs projects regularly for Nickelodeon Entertainment Experience at resorts, theme parks and cruise lines. Across the board, he strives to succeed in bringing a creative vision and a spirit of collaboration to every project.

Sage Tokach

Sage Tokach is a first year M.F.A. Theatre for Young Audiences graduate candidate at the University of a Central Florida. She’s from Abilene, Kansas, and Orlando is the largest city where she has lived. Sage got her B.F.A. from Oklahoma City University and recently toured with Missoula Children’s Theatre. She has a special passion for outdoor theatre, and she hopes to visit every national park.

Arius West

Arius West graduated from the University of Central Florida with his bachelor’s in Theatre and Education and a concentration in Stage Combat. He currently works at Sea World as a seasonal performer, a Dance Coach with Elevate Afterschool, a Hip-Hop Instructor at Celebration Arts Academy, a Teaching Artist with Orlando Repertory Theatre, and a Tour Guide at Chocolate Kingdom.

Julie Woods-Robinson

Julie is a professional actor, director, and teacher who aims to inspire creators, artists, and life-long learners through the arts. Julie holds a BFA in Drama from New York University and an MFA in Theatre for Young Audiences from the University of Central Florida. Julie specializes in community collaboration, devised works, puppetry, and musical theatre. Favorite directing credits include Shrek, Jr. (REP Youth Academy), My Son Pinocchio, Jr. (REP Youth Academy), Nancy Drew and Her Biggest Case Ever (A.D., Orlando REP), and Puddin’ and the Grumble (UCF).
