Connect with professionals and build your resume! Through hands-on work in the classroom and backstage, students explore the roles of deck crew, sound and lighting technicians, dressers, and stage management. Learn valuable skills to take back to the theatre programs at your own schools and become eligible to serve on Youth Academy backstage crews for productions year-round. This learning experience culminates with applied work on Orlando Family Stage’s Youth Academy production of SpongeBob The Musical Youth Edition.
Interviews: Open through May 24th
Orientation: Monday June 3; 6-7pm
Classes: Monday-Friday; June 10-July 8, 2:30-6:30pm (No rehearsal June 19th, July 4th, or July 5th)
DTA/Crew Prep: July 9, 9:30am-1:30pm
Cue to Cue: July 11 & 12, 1-9pm
Tech: July 14, 15, 16, 1-9pm
Performances: July 19, 20, 26, 27 at 7pm July 20, 21, 27, 28 at 2pm
Possible Performances: July 24 & 25, TBD
All rehearsals and performances from July 8th on are mandatory.
